• Neurologic Outpatients Department

We have 7 neurologists providing services at outpatients department providing relevant workup and treatment for patients with headache, stroke, epilepsy, peripheral neuropathy such as polyneuropathy or radiculopathy, neurodegenerative disease such as dementia, Parkinson disease, movement disorder, myopathy, sleep disorder, spinal cord disease, motor neuron disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and rare diseases of neurologic field, etc.

• Neurologic ward

Our ward is in the 16th floor at En Chu Kong Hospital. Main problems of patients admitted to neurologic ward are stroke, status epilepsy, neurodegenerative disease, spinal cord disease, myopathy, polyneuropathy, CNS infection etc.

Our stroke center is devoted to improve the lives of patients who have suffered a stroke. Our stroke team is composed of 6 neurologists, 3 neurosurgeons, 5 radiologists, 2 residents, 5 nurse specialists and 1 case manager providing acute management and post-acute care program. We have 24-7 service of duty on call for tPA thrombolytic therapy. IA thrombectomy team and equipment have been set up since the end of 2018. We provide neuro intensive care for severe stroke patients. Rehabilitation program is arranged as early as possible.

1. EEG (Electroencephalogram): diverse protocols of EEG, including video EEG and 24 hours-monitoring
2. EMG/NCV studies (Electromyography / Nerve Conduction)
3. Somatosensory evoked potential (SEP or SSEP)
4. Autonomic neuropathy Tests: SSRI, RRIV, Tilting Table Test
5. Carotid duplex sonography and transcranial color-coded duplex sonography (TCD)
6. Mental Test: several assessment tools for evaluating patients with dementia
7. Polysomnography and Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT): for sleep disorder
