Rehabilitation Medicine Division

Rehabilitation medicine is necessary for medical care continuum. A patient can restore maximum or part of their body functions through comprehensive rehabilitation when going through the disease's subacute, chronic, and recovery phases.

The adult rehabilitation unit is located on the 4th floor of the Fuxing Medical Building, consisting of an electrotherapy room, hydrotherapy room, therapeutic exercise room, orthopedic physiotherapy room, occupational therapy room, and speech therapy room.

The children rehabilitation unit is located on the third floor of the Zhongshan Medical Building, consisting of individual treatment rooms and treatment room, occupational therapy room, cognitive computer classroom, visual function classroom, thermal splint making room, physical therapy room, and speech therapy room.

The department members include two rehabilitation physicians, 14 physical therapists, 14 occupational therapists, and four speech therapists. Together, we provide comprehensive rehabilitation medical services to the patients.

• Neurological rehabilitation: stroke, brain trauma, spinal cord injury, limb numbness, drop foot, drop hand, hemiplegia, quadriplegia, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, facial nerve palsy, peripheral nerve injury, Parkinsonism, brain tumor, brain infection, etc.Orthopedic rehabilitation: back pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain, wrist pain, finger pain, nuchal pain, hip pain, knee pain, ankle pain, heel pain, myofascial pain, tendinitis, sprain, strain, (lumbar、cervical spine or knee) osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, scoliosis, trigger finger, frozen shoulder, sports injuries, spur formation, tennis elbow, herniated intervertebral disc, sequela of orthopedic operation (joint contracture, muscle, wasting), sequela of polio, and so on.Childhood rehabilitation: developmental delay, cerebral palsy, chromosomal disorders, torticollis, toe-in, toe out, flat foot, genu valgus, scoliosis, intellectual disabilities, retardation, ADHD, and ASD.Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation: post operation of CABG, post operation of cardiac valve replacement, AMI, CAD, CHF, and COPD.Cancer rehabilitation: breast cancerNPC Examination: nerve conduction study and electromyography, sonography of muscle and skeleton.

  Evaluation and certification for application of orthosis, prosthesis, wheelchair and other assistive devices.
